Mark's "vision" for Thomas Terrace Baptist Church is being a spiritually mature and fully equipped body of believers.
Dick Vannoy - Executive Pastor
Richard N. Vannoy came on staff at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church in May 2001. He and his wife, Norma, were married in 1958. They have 5 grown, married children and 21 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Dick was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in the Northern Virginia area. He received Christ as his Savior and Lord when he was 36 years old. At the time he was pursuing a career in the Federal Government which included among other positions a State Department assignment at the embassy in Lima, Peru; Deputy Director of Administrative Services in the Peace Corp.; and Assistant Director of Operations in the U.S. Water Resources Council. After 27 years of service and reaching the Executive level, God called him to the gospel ministry in 1980. Since then, he has served on staff in four growing churches; two as Associate Pastor and two as Senior Pastor before coming to TTBC. Dick has a BS in Business Administration and a MA in Bible Exposition. Now retired, we are honored that Dick still advises and serves on the board of TTBC.
Major Hillman - Student Pastor
Major Hillman came to serve as the permanent student ministries director at Thomas Terrace in January of 2015 after being involved with the Middle School for a semester in 2014. Major holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Accounting from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
Having been born and raised overseas in the Middle East, Major has a passion and a heart to see the lost come to a saving knowledge of Christ. He was saved in 1999 when on furlough with his parents. The calling to ministry and subsequent call to Thomas Terrace came during his high school and college years. His philosophy to ministry can be wrapped up the following statement: “To create an atmosphere where leaders and students alike can learn and grow in the knowledge of God, live honourably as to the glorification of the Lord, and to see Christ’s name magnified through servant leadership, gospel centred messages, and fun filled activities.” Ultimately, Major seeks to love God, serve people, and to declare truth.
